SugarSync will sync your files between all of your devices so that you always have the most recent versions, no matter where you are or what device you’re using. At the same time, it effectively backs up your data onto SugarSync’s servers.
This would be best for someone who is always on the go and needs more features than you get with a free Dropbox account.

Getting Started With SugarSync
Sync your PC, Mac, and phone. Possibly the best file synchronization program out there
Then access your files from any web browser. Yes, even if you don’t have your own device, you can edit your files online from a public computer.
At the same time, service provides secure, remote backup. If your computer is stolen or damaged, you can recover your files easily from the web through SugarSync. (No CDs, DVDs, or backup drives required.)
This is interesting because it offers sync and backup, with prices that put it up against most backup services. $25/year for 10 GB, $50 yearly for 30 GB, on up to a business plan for $250/year for 250 GB.

The new SugarSync 3.0 is completely re-imagined to provide a more simple, intuitive, and powerful user experience.
SugarSync 3.0 offers one-click access to folders, devices and shared files, and the latest version of the app provides the most advanced means of accessing and managing files in a cloud service!
Don’t just take my word for it. SugarSync has also been awarded:
5-star Editor Rating on CNET’s Download.com
Small Business Summit 2010 Hot Tech Demo Winner
The Stevies American Small Business Awards 2008 Winner
Final Decision on SugarSync
What I liked about SugarSync:
The software is extremely easy to use – just a few clicks and you are ready to go! And it does this without skimping on important features.
What I did not like about SugarSync:
You can’t schedule backups to run instantly and continuously; “hourly” is the fastest. (Instant backups are possible, but must be done manually.)

SugarSync has a great service that worked smoothly throughout my testing. Whether I was backing up my files, restoring files, or syncing files, it worked. While I’m still a fan of Carbonite for their constant backup and priority backup features (and of course the red/yellow/green dots,) MyPC Backup is a viable contender in the online backup space and should be considered alongside the other popular services.

SugarSync is a file sync service that also functions as online backup.
File sync. Very well done. Works with everything. Will even sync Macs to PCs. Fast and convenient, you can add files to sync via drag and drop.
Real-time, continuous backup too. One of few services to do this (Carbonite is another.) Most backup services, even if they’re “automatic,” only run a backup at a scheduled interval, perhaps once per day.
Also with the latest update, you get SugarSync Drive, which allows you to access your files right from Windows Explorer.
File sharing and stuff. You can even share photo albums with family and friends; they don’t need to sign-up to SugarSync. You get both private and public options.
Version history. Last 5 versions of a file are maintained in case you need to go back.
Install and Setup Process
The download, install, and setup are easy.
This will be covered in detail shortly, once the latest SugarSync 2.0 beta is fully released.
Backup Space and Pricing Plans
A few plans.
30GB $4.99/month ($49.99/year)
60GB $9.99/month ($99.99/year)
100GB $14.99/month ($149.99/year)
250GB $24.99/month ($249.99/year)
500GB $39.99/month ($399.99/year)
60GB plan is the most popular. Reasonably priced.
Important – no “unlimited” option. 500GB is a lot, but considering many computers these days have 500GB-1TB hard drives…
Your files are transferred securely using TLS (Transport Layer Security) and are stored in the cloud in an encrypted format using 128-bit AES—the same level of protection used for online financial transactions.
Works with any mobile device. iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry apps. Even Symbian. And really, any device that connects to the internet can at least connect to SugarSync to access files. File access includes MP3 streaming on your mobile phone.
If your computer crashes, just jump on your phone and you’ll be rolling along with hardly any downtime.
Pretty darn cool, good price. File versioning and good backup and sync both. If you only need backup and not sync, Carbonite will be cheaper. But for sync, SugarSync rocks.
No phone support, but if everything works as well as it did in my testing, you shouldn’t need it. Anyway, a 5GB account is totally free to use, so you may as well use it.Download SugarSync For Free
